CEI Board
The CEI Board serves as the central governing body, guiding the organization's overall strategy, advising the host, and actively supporting the establishment of new national branches while setting the location for the annual conference. Composed of a core executive group with voting seats, alongside international members and advisors from global national branches, the Board ensures cohesive direction and broad expertise across the organization.

Anne Marie (Annie) Begg has been a key member of Caretakers since the early days, having one of the highest conference attendances in the organization. She currently lives in Aberdeen, Scotland, and is the President of the CEI Board.

Stien is the Vice President of the CEI Board and a serial host of the annual conference, having last hosted the conference in 2023 in Indonesia.

I am a former Physics teacher with many years of experience in science and environmental education. I have been involved in Caretakers of the Environment International (CEI) since my first conference in 2012 in Maastricht, the Netherlands. I joined the CEI Advisory Board in 2016 and currently serve as Executive Board Secretary. One of my proudest memories is hosting the CEI 2019 Istanbul conference and celebrating its smooth and successful completion during the Closing Ceremony.

I joined CEI first as a student in 2009 in Scotland, Aberdeen. It was one of my first international experiences and planted a seed that led to my current work for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After all these years I remain interested in climate action and connecting globally with likeminded people! I joined the CEI board in 2022 and am excited to continue working for and with our fellow Caretakers to reach and empower ambitious young people and their teachers around the globe and bring them closer together.
